Since 1999 I collaborate with SCL initially dealing with the design of steel structures and industrial plant and afterword in the design of metal shelving. Since 2001 I am mainly involved in the field of building renovation or, better defined, of transformation of existing structures in order to be adapted to the new architectural project sustaining the designers and the clients in the choice of the most appropriate structural solutions.
The research of the technical solutions that allows the successful realization of the architectural projects is the creative side of my work and represents, each time, a new challenge!
In my personal curriculum a big role is given to structural work realized in Italy and abroad and related to high fashion showroom, apartments and entire existing buildings. In the last years I also developed a specialization in the design of internal staircases of great architectonical relevance often based on a complex structural supporting project.
The coordination and the economical, technical supervision and managements of the projects and the team work play an important role among my competences.
After my master degree in Civil Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, in 2001, I collaborated with important firms in the field of petrolchemical plant design focusing on industrial and metallic structures.
In SCL , I play the role of project manager and job coordinator, in the area of my specialization and I am in charge of the development of stress analysis and constructive details and their structural validation through special software that are studied on purpose.
My professional cooperation with SCL started in 1999, one year after my graduation as Civil Engineer at Politecnico di Milano. Besides initial jobs on concrete structures, principally I’ve always been involved in projects regarding steel structures, developing more experience in the field of scaffoldings, steel pallet racking and shelving and automatic racking systems. In this area I play the role of project manager, with function of job coordinator both technical or economical. I also perform the check of installation on site and tests. Regarding the seismic issue, I follow the design of new constructions and I perform vulnerability analysis and design for improvement or adequacy of existing racks.
In the field of steel racks I also attend to the UNI working group developing Italian Technical Standards and I attend as Italian representative of CISI (Italian Manufacturers of industrial steel racks) at some European working groups by the ERF (European Racking Federation) writing Standards on these topics. From 2011 to 2014 I’ve been following the research about seismic behavior of racks “Seisracks 2” financed by the European Community, where SCL played the role of general coordinator as expert in seismic design.
I’m enrolled as IGQ inspector on the certification IGQ-UNI EN15512 for pallet racks design and CE marking of lighting poles according to EN40 Standard.
I graduated in structural engineering at Politecnico of Milan in December 2006, and I started my professional career as cooperator of SCL in 2007, achieving in 2008 the qualification for the profession.
I specialized in static and seismic design of steel frame structures for the industrial field and for storage systems, as adjustable pallet racks and automatic/clad warehouses. Besides, my experience turns to the proportioning of shell structures (as tanks, hoppers and ducts) and to the seismic retrofitting of steel structures according to national, European and American codes.
I also contributed to the writing of design examples of racking systems according to FEM (European Racking Federation) recommendations.
I worked in the construction supervision of several worksites and perform constantly activities as tester of racks installation, for warehouses located in Italy and abroad.
In November 2015, I achieved the qualification as safety assessor of steel static storage systems according to UNI EN 15635.
My professional collaboration with SCL started, in 2001, with the analysis and the design of modular structure in stell. During my training I have been also involved in many activities related to forensic engineering and technical and administrative inspection and approvals showing a particular attitude and interest for these fields. The opportunity of working at the development of always more complex, interesting and stimulating tasks increased my knowhow in these fields guiding me towards a specialization in the word of legal and technical expertise and of technical and administrative inspections and approvals.
I'm a Building Engineer and I started my collaboration with SCL in 2010.
I mainly work on structural diagnosis and seismic risk assessment related to the retrofitting and
upgrading of existing buildings.
One of my skills is the evaluation or development of multidisciplinary design such as architecture,
structure and installation.
Since 2013 I am also in charge of Construction and Safety management on site focusing especially on
constructive details, on traceability of materials (DOP evaluation according to CPR 305/11) and on the
technical and professional evaluation and suitability of the company involved.
I graduated in civil engineering, in 2011 at the Politecnico of Thessaly in Greece. During the last years of the university studies I carried out research activities in collaboration with the laboratory of structural analysis of the university and I published different research papers (as second name) in international engineering journals. In 2011 I moved to Italy, after winning a scholarship, for the participation in the international master of second level in “Design of Steel Structures” , at the university of Naples Federico II.
I started my professional activity in SCL in year 2013, few months after completing the Master and from 2014 I am member of the Milan Order of Engineering.
In SCL I’m mostly involved in the design of steel structures, in particular, storage racks and self-standing warehouses and I deal with all the design phases, from the structural calculations to the check of the correct installation on site and the execution of laboratory and or site tests, when necessary.
Part of my activity also includes the study of static and seismic behavior of existing structures, mainly made of steel, and the design of structural reinforcement.
In SCL I mainly deal projects related to existing buildings.
In the seismic environment I developed an high knowledge in the vulnerability analysis field and in restoring and reconstructing design of steel and concrete constructions. In detail I am involved in the preliminary phases of designing related to computer modeling, with EF software, and analysis of structure “ante et post operam”.
In the renovation field, with particular attention to the structural nature of the building, I am in charge of structural intervention finalized to the architectural requalification and to the space reorganization and distribution.
Since 1998 I collaborate with SCL and, in 2003, I founded SCL Servizi Sas that in cooperations with SCL Ingegneria Strutturale, operates in the fields of Civil and Industrial engineering supporting order’s management for what concerns technical drawings, computation and Directions of Work.
In the years I developed high knowledge in the general managing of engineering project coordinating and computing the different phases of the work, from preliminary design to executive drawings, and performing Direction of works specially focusing on the static retrofitting of existing structures.
My collaboration with SCL started few months after my master degree in Civil Engineering at Politecnico di Milano.
My tasks consist in computing of structural analysis of metallic pallet-rack systems and programming of software script.
My background is in the industrial field and, thanks to collaborations held with, Italian and international firms dealing with Industrial engineering plants, I am confident in relating with those structures and their methodology and design standards.
In SCL I am, mainly, in charge of industrial projects of fumes dedusting and thermal power plants coordinating the different phases of the work with particular attention to the needs of the client and the deadlines agreed.
I am also part of SCL inspections staff of storage systems with the role of “team leader”.
After I finished the studies in Building Engineering at Politecnico di Milano I started working for different architecture and engineering offices designing the architectural and technical aspects of residential buildings and following activities on building sites as site manager assistant.
Later I switched to the industrial sector, dealing with design and drawings of metal structures.
Since year 2013 I collaborate with SCL in the industrial steel structures and in the steel rack sector concentrating on construction design, stress analysis, development and control of drawings and 3D models.
I started my career at Politecnico di Milano, where I studied civil engineering with specialization in Geotechnics. I graduated there in July 2016, and next year, with the aim of making the most of what I had been learning and with the purpose of acquiring new skills, I joined SCL team.
In the same year, while studying, working and learning, I obtained the qualification to practice my profession. My current tasks involve both the structural and the geotechnical aspects; in particular, in collaboration with my colleagues, I design and check steel racks and various types of building foundations.
I completed my training in Italy, the United States and the Netherlands and, during my professional life, I followed parallel, synergistic paths, maintaining a strong interdisciplinary character across different fronts: teaching, research, publishing and architecture (mainly dealing with building renovations).
In the early nineties I started my collaboration with the Milan Politecnico and Istituto Europeo di Design where I gave courses of History of Design and Architecture, Interior Designing and Design Methodology and coordinated specialization courses in the Advanced study program. I was a consultant and researcher for POLI.Design, the Politecnico’s consortium for applied research and continuous training and for the Politecnico’s special in –house lab MAST (Merceologia e Analisi Settoriale e Territoriale).
The progress reports from the research carried out for MAST have been published as an observation of the construction sector in the technical specialized magazines edited by BE-MA ““La Rivendita: il nuovo commercio dei prodotti e delle attrezzature per l’edilizia” and “Specializzata: mensile delle tecniche di applicazione e costruzione”. Among my publications: "New Offices” in Italy" and "New Exhibits 3" both edited by Edizioni L’Archivolto.
Thanks to my diversified experience across various spheres, I had the opportunity to mature my competencies related to a research and analysis method applicable to different contents by following the needs arisen in the professional environment, and to develop synthesis and review skills, also finalized the elaborations of written reports. Since 2013, I am collaborating with SCL dealing with communication, forensic engineering and services concerning the architecture’s and engineering’s fields.
I worked, as technical draftsman dealing meanly with fumes dedusting plants, in an engineering firm specialized in installation design.
